How to make Expensive Teas go a long way, treat yourself on a Budget.
If you buy Tea Leaves, it is usually cheaper by weight.
But don't just scoop some leaves into a cup and add water.
This may look pretty but you are got getting the max. out of your Tea leaves.
Grind the dry leaves in a coffee grinder until they become powder.
Tea in powder from has a larger surface area to volume ratio.
The more surface area you have, the less amount of tea leaves you need.
If you buy Tea bags, cut the bags and pour the ground up tea into an air tight jar for storage.
Make only what you need. Add a quarter to half a teaspoon of leaves to a freshly boiled cup of water. Stir in one direction until you get a mini vortex and the leaves fall to the middle of the cup, then stop and stir a few times in the opposite direction, until all the powdered leaves have sunken.
Taste the tea and add more only if you prefer something stronger.
Add sugar etc. as needed and stir.
When the drink has cooled enough for consumption, the leaves will be on the bottom and you can easily drink until you see them at stuck to the bottom of the cup.
You will find that you use far less tea for the same taste.
Enjoy!
